First of all, you want to get all your ingredients together....
Depending on the crust you make. You can buy a store bought graham cracker crust. Or make your own. I made my own. You can also use any type of cookie. I opted for chocolate chip. The original recipe calls for a store bought graham crust, and sugar cookie.
For my recipe, you will need....
1 package of oreos
1/4 cup of butter
1 roll of chocolate chip cookie dough
Various candy.
Pie tin
So first, I made the crust. I put the oreo's in a food processor. Depending on the size, you may have to do it several times. If you don't have one, you can use a blender, or put in a bag, and squish really well. You can also add nuts if you like. I think next time, I will add almonds.
After you got all of the cookies nice and smushy, spread them out into your pie dish. Then you want to melt your butter. Should only take about 20-30 seconds in the microwave. Add it to your cookie mess.
Mix it well with your hands. I pour a little at a time. You don't want it too wet or too dry. Kind of in between. Nice and moist. Then press it down, so it's firm, going up the sides of the dish.
Crust is done! The rest is even easier! Just open your cookie dough. Or, you can even make your own. But, I love store bought, so that is what I used. Letting the dough sit on the counter for 20 min before this step, makes it easier to press. But you don't have to.
Press cookie down down into the crust. Not too hard, or you will press the crust right out. It will not fill the pie tin. It's going to rise. So it will only be, maybe half full.
I know, you want to eat it already. But wait! It gets better!
Right about now, you want to heat your oven to 350.
Now, you can use any candy your heart desires. You can use nuts too! Be creative! I used Kit Kat, Twix, and Peanut, and Plain M&M's. You can put as much or as little candy as you want. I think I used 3 of the fun size of each. You want to chop them up into small pieces.
Next, arrange them on top of the cookie. There doesn't have to be a pattern. They can just be placed anywhere. But you want to have each kin of candy on each piece. So I just took one kind, and went in a circle, starting from the outside. Then made a circle with the next, and repeat, and repeat. Then shove any extra wherever you see a gap!
Yummy!
Pop it in the oven for about 30 minutes. And done! Wasn't that easy?
A closeup of the ooey, gooey, deliciousness.....
So, so good! Cut them small! Once piece of this is overload! You can serve as is, or you can add some ice cream on top.
I added some vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge, and whipped cream. Yes, it was over kill. And yes, it was possibly the BEST thing I have ever eaten! Enjoy!
